Spólka Wodna "Miedzyodrze" aims for minimising the problem of uncontrolled discharges of wastewater to surface water and, in consequence, for improving of water environment in the Odra River, Szczecin Lagoon (Oder Haff) and in the Baltic Sea.

Spólka Wodna operates an environmental complex consisting of wastewater treatment facilities and the connected sewage transmission systems covering the area of Szczecin administrative district called Miedzyodrze. This environmental complex is capable of reception and treatment of communal and household wastewater (sewage), ship-generated sewage, wastewaters polluted with oily substances and waters from washing of ship holds containing residues from grainy cargoes. 

Spólka Wodna cooperates with many local companies dealing with environmental protection on the field of transport and treatment of waste. The most important contractors are: Infra-Port Sp. z o.o., MPO Sp. z o.o., Firma Uslugowo-Handlowa "Espadon", Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa, Ship-Service SA Grupa Orlen, Zaklad Wodociagow i Kanalizacji Sp. z o.o. in Szczecin and many more. 

The territory of operation of Spólka Wodna "Miedzyodrze" is the area of the Republic of Poland with special consideration given to the area of Szczecin Port and the adjacent surrounding areas.
